“Magyarország legérdekesebb és legfontosabb tehetséggondozó programjai: Messze nem tudok annyit a hazai tehetséget támogató programok világáról, mint illene, így biztosan kihagyok nagyszerű programokat. Még hazai alapképzésemen ismertem meg a Nemzet Fiatal Tehetségeiért Ösztöndíjat; ez a sokoldalú program több tehetséges hallgatótársamat is támogatta, akik olyan kísérleti eszközökkel, számítástechnikai cikkekkel tudták így végezni tanulmányaikat, amiket önerőből nem engedhettek volna meg maguknak. A milliárdos költségvetésű NFTÖ több ezer hozzájuk hasonló fiatalnak adott lehetőséget az elmúlt hat évben. Az új és nagyívű NFTÖ mellé eszembe jutott egy régi és kisebb költségvetésből gazdálkodó program is, a MATFUND alapítvány alá tartozó KöMaL. A lassan 128 éve, Arany Dániel által alapított lapon megszámlálhatatlan természettudományok iránt érdeklődő gimnazista “edződött” – köztük például Erdős Pál is. Jómagam a gimnáziumban hanyagoltam a pontversenyt, és ennek a hiányát a mai napig érzem.
Miért fontos a tehetséggondozás, a tehetségek: Manapság nagyon könnyű bármilyen információhoz hozzájutni, ami könnyíti és nehezíti is a fogékony fiatalok fejlődését: az interneten egyszerre meg lehet nézni legnívósabb egyetemek oktatási anyagait és rengeteg, a figyelmet elterelő szórakozási lehetőség közül is lehet választani. A mai tehetséggondozás egyik legfontosabb – és szerintem nem elég figyelmet kapó – feladata, hogy ebben a bonyolult “tartalom-tengerben” utat mutasson a fiataloknak, akik így a legtöbbet hozhatják ki a digitális kor lehetőségeiből.”
“The most interesting and important talent care programs in Hungary: I know far less about Hungarian talent support programs than I should, and I am sure there are some excellent programs which I fail to mention. I heard about the Young Talents of the Nation Scholarship during my BA programme in Hungary. Many talented students from my course have received support from this diverse program, allowing them to use experimental tools and IT equipment during their studies, which they would not have been able to afford otherwise. Several thousand similar young people have been provided opportunities like this by NFTÖ which has a budget of several billions of Forints. In addition to the new and grand NFTÖ, I also remember an older and smaller budget program, the KöMaL operated by the MATFUND foundation. This publication, soon turning 128 years old, founded by Mr. Dániel Arany has been a source of knowledge for countless secondary school students interested in natural sciences, including Mr. Pál Erdős. I had not been particularly interested in competing in secondary school and to this day, I feel the disadvantage resulting from this.
Why are talents and talent care important? Today, it is very easy to obtain any information, and this can support, or hinder the development of interested young people. The Internet allows us to see lectures from the most prestigious universities and a great number of entertaining distractions at the same time. One of the most important tasks, that is not given enough attention in my opinion, of current talent care programs is to orient young people in navigating on this “sea of content” so that they can make the most of the opportunities offered by the digital age.”
